About Heacham 

Heacham has twin, wide sandy beaches, which make a lovely walk from one to the other or for the more energetic, you can meander along the promenade to the incredibly popular resort of Hunstanton. Watch the stunning sunset, so beautiful it was recently featured in The Sun newspaper. At Heacham beach you will also find beach shops, an amusement arcade and a traditional fish & chip shop.


Heacham, famously the home of Norfolk Lavender, open to the public for tours of the world famous Lavender Gardens and Lavender oil distillery. Sample a Lavender scone of purchase a unique gift. Recently opened the fascinating Rare Breed Animal Centre and Farmer Freds indoor adventure play area - perfect for a rainy day.

 

Heacham, has long been associated with the legend of Pocahontas, recently popularised by the Disney film. Pocahontas married Heacham man, John Rolfe, who brought the Indian Princess to Heacham to visit his family and this is recalled by a plaque in the village church, Pocahontas is also featured on the Heacham village sign. The village church of St Mary the Virgin is the oldest building in the village, built in the 13th century.
