Heacham has twin, wide sandy beaches, which make a lovely walk from one to the other or for the more energetic, you can meander along the promenade to the incredibly popular resort of Hunstanton. Heacham, has long been associated with the legend of Pocahontas, recently popularised by the Disney film. Pocahontas married Heacham man, John Rolfe, who brought the Indian Princess to Heacham to visit his family and this is recalled by a plaque in the village church, Pocahontas is also featured on the Heacham village sign. The village church of St Mary the Virgin is the oldest building in the village, built in the 13th century.
